Your Eyes

The first time I saw your eyes
I didn't need to seek for more
For they revealed
All I needed to know

My heart skipped a beat
As I saw your raw being
Oblivious you are to your own beauty
More than skin deep
You are intelligence and sensuality
Intoxicating and real

I will heal the wounds others left
While you fall safely in my arms
Let me show you the magick you hide
As I shower you with the love I carry inside

Our souls know each other from ancient times
As our paths collide, we start to remember our essence
My joys and pain you know well
For I am free to be me in your presence

With me you drop all pretenses
There are no masks here
No painful judgements
You are free to break down your walls
As scare as you might feel
You know you are safe to let go

My words are sincere
They freely flow from my heart
You are the angel I crave
The shadow made flesh

Neither one is innocent
We are both gentle sinners
Don't hurt my spirit
For you have the power to cloud my existence

I can see your darkness
I can see your light
Neither one scares me
You are simply divine

I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
