Sweet Child

**Rough copy

Wherever I look around our house
I see the most beautiful flowers
Full of colors and splendor
Each with a unique aroma
Each precious to my soul

I didn't know what I was missing
Until I had you in my arms
Please don't doubt what you mean to me
For the day you were born made me whole
Because of you, I learned what it is to love

Your innocence,
Your sweet smile
Your tenderness
Your helpless cry
All calling for a protector
Well here I am,
For I am your mother
And you are my sweet child

I won't be perfect
I will make mistakes
But when you fall
I will be there
For my love for you is constant
My love for you, knows no end

I see you move through life
Dancing to the rhythm of your own heart
The day you were born, I made a promise
Never to ask you to be anything else than who you are
To respect and honor the light within you
To protect your wild spark

You are my greatest treasure
As I see you walk through life
My heart feels full and rejoices
For I am proud of who you are

Through it all, you have flourished
A warrior spirit lives in your heart
May the moon guard your spirit
May the sun always shine on you
May the song of our ancients guide your steps
May you fly free to the calling of your soul

Your beauty
Your laughter
Your beautiful soul
They are the greatest gift life could have bestowed

You are the flowers that bright my life
My love for you won't ever fade
Your roots ran deep,
Be wise and live without regrets

There is strength in you
Everything you seek can be found
Don't be afraid to look within your heart
For in it you will find your compass
You will find the meaning of your life

No matter what times does
I will always be with you
For our roots are connected
Our souls forever intertwined
For you are my precious,
You will always be my sweet child.

I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
