My Heart Your Nest

(Rough Copy)

Like a gentle summer breeze you rushed into my life
Like a ghost and without warning you appeared
My walls you broke
And my defenses disappeared

Boldly you entered my inner sanctum
Like a bird seeking refuge you flew in
And my heart became your nest

I can't claim you stole my heart
For I willingly give it and don't want it back
Now that you live in me, I no longer feel lost
I will fight for your soul at any cost

All I want to do is wrap my arms tightly around you
I want to share with you my secrets
I want to see your joy and your pains
But will you run away and hide?

Life has made it clear to me
You are as special as a butterfly
I am not afraid of your demons
Are you afraid of mine?

Within my dreams the Gods have spoken
I am to guide you back to your own light
I am to protect you from your own anger
And fight the fears that hold you back

My soul is to be your guide and yours to be mine
Your smile makes me weak
Your senses drive me wild
I wish to abandon reason giving in to my heart

You are the perfect mix of love and desire combined
I wish to explore every inch of your body
To taste the nectar without holding back

I don't know what this is called
Some call it love
Some call it lust
Either way I want to be yours and make you mine

Immense madness makes me lethargic
You may think I don't care
Yet my spirit reaches out for yours
As my desires consecrate you

No need to keep running from yourself
Let my embrace provide you a place to rest
Let my kisses erase the pain from the past
Bringing strength and hope back

When your glasses get foggy
And you feel you have no direction
Take my hand...
Let me show you just how amazing you are

Until we meet again
I will be patiently waiting
My friend
My shadow
My love

I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
