One Day…

This poem reflects the sad state of affairs at various times throughout history worldwide. This poem hits close to my heart, as I am sure it does for anyone; regardless of background; who knows up close and personal the repercussions of war. This poem is dedicated to all innocents in every side, for too often in the name of creed, history, genes, we tend to forget we are all human beings. And that in every war, no matter which side you are on, innocent people pay the price. This is for them…this poem is for all of us.

 One Day…

Maybe one day love will prevail
Maybe one day we will be more concerned
With making love instead of creating wars.

Maybe one day we will see each other
No more masks lies or manipulations
A world so corrupt, where the unholy
Condemn the innocent to damnation.

Borders painted with innocent blood
Where the only ones winning cover themselves in gold
Meanwhile, rivers made of tears flow
Brother against brother…that is war.

“Guilty” one shouts to the other
The crime, they came from different mothers
And while in the name of holiness hatred rains
The Gods cry in despair to deaf ears.

Readily the devils hand over more guns
“Pull the trigger” they whisper
While they think “This should be fun”.

The garden of peace destroyed on both sides
Criminals controlling their minds
The only ones laughing are the bankers
More gas to the fire means more profits.

Maybe one day there won’t be more wars
Instead, we shall write about love
Free to be…
Free to live…
Fee to thrive as we please
Where the only master is the free spirit within.

Maybe one day the petals of peace will open
And its aromas will reign supreme
Feeling our hearts filled with joy
Because the chrysalis is no more.

Hatred finally transformed
And wings ready to take flight
As we leave behind the caterpillar
To become butterflies.

I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
