This is my latest poem. It was inspired by the God of Spinoza. Also inspired By Rumi, who said you had to keep breaking your heart until it opens; in a society meant to numb, his words could not be more fitting. And inspired by the Free Spirited, who are not afraid to feel, and who understand to be free spirited is no easy feat. It means to have the strength not to succumb to either extreme but to dare rise between (balance) as nothing but yourself.
Let the heavens open up
Let them sing
Let them resemble your wild heart
Defying the chains of society's impositions
Speak what is in your mind and soul
Roar...
Create your own symphony
And let the world hear your sweet melody.
Let your spirit become like thunder
Shaking the ground, defying the hill
Against the cages...
The shackles...
The so-called norm
When this is meant to break you
Rise bravely amidst the storm
Who cares if others like it or not.
Against oppression raise your voice...
Against injustice raise your voice...
Against brutalities stand tall...
Although this world of extremes
Between so called virtue and sin
May try to nail you down
Remember you are more
So rise, resilient and strong.
For every leash they try to impose
You'll fashion wings
Flying high over their hypocrisy
With sword and spear you will defend
Those you cherish until the end.
Embrace life...
Create a new path...
Allow your uniqueness to shine
While remaining grounded to your fellow men
Encourage their hearts to dare
To claim the Divinity within
To reach beyond despair
To a place where there are no masters
Just the imperfectly perfect spirit
Rising in glory...
Standing tall
Defying every obstacle thrown.
Look in the direction of the four winds
You can feel it coming
The malevolent hurricane
Do not fear...
Look within...
Let them see you are not one to break
You are strong and will not cave
For even the angel of death must see
Your spirit wild, sacred, Free
Let them see what they are against
For if they must come for you
They better know
You are more than just flesh and bones
You are more than human
You are divinity incarnate
You are one with the FREE GOD.

By Sofia Falcone
I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
