I immerse my body in the sea
Seeking its cool embrace to quench the fire within
Let the sea be my confidant
As I release the secrets nestled in my heart's depths.
I want to tell you what you mean to me
Yet words falter and verses fade
For what I feel is beyond expression
Too exquisite and tumultuous to capture
It is the love of a hero on his solitary quest.
Only in your presence does this puzzle find resolution
For my heart has become a mystery
Only you possess the key to its treasures
Only you can both satisfy and torment me.
Oh, if I could place my heart in your hands...
Then you would know it beats only for you
Despite the relentless passage of time
You endure as my muse
Complex...
Resilient...
Delicate and sensual...
You embody the sweet paradox which governs my life.
If my heart rested in your hands, clarity would dawn
You would understand you are desired by this man
My body yearns to fulfill your every desire
To conquer every inch of you
Until your very essence is intertwined with mine
Until your lips taste me in every breath.
"I love you," I confessed
"You don't understand," was your reply
"I am a different woman
I dance with the phases of the moon
While the sun blazes fiercely within me
To walk alongside me is no small feat
Show me your essence
Make me feel poetry
Then, and only then, will I be yours
And you will be mine."
But I am already yours, my muse
And these words are born from my heart...
If my heart lay in your hands
You would not hesitate to come
For you would know you are the one.
The one I have patiently awaited
The one with whom I can shed all inhibition
Sacred and Wild in equal measure
A fiery Aphrodite...
Vulnerable yet mighty.
But you are absent...
Thus, I solace this lonely heart alone
The sea and the horizon witness my love
Unrequited, as countless poets have lamented.
Against all odds, I plead once more
If you are to be mine, you must come
You must find your way to me
I will await your embrace
Where every pain dissolves with a kiss
For being with you is my sole bliss.

I believe, with quiet fervor, that one soul can shift the course of many. I write not from abstraction, but from the raw immediacy of lived experience and learned studies - from the labyrinth of my own challenges, triumphs, questions and awakenings. In offering the contours of my inner world, I hope to awaken in others a remembrance of their own power, their own unclaimed wholeness.
